Nearly there…
I
Welcome! As you can see, we are nearly ready to launch the website. Meanwhile, here’s a little bit about me.
I live on the Sheeps Head Peninsula in West Cork and enjoy growing vegetables and flowers, both edible and for pollination in our salty garden overlooking Dunmanus Bay. The garden is very special to us. We have worked hard to turn a former field absent of trees and flowers into a haven for wildlife.
My art is a response to my immediate environment. The nature which surrounds me- the sea, rocks, mountains an the ever changing sky all influence my work.
Travels around Western Australia and Victoria visiting my family have also inspired me as the light is so different in the Southern Hemisphere, colours and shadows changing constantly. The Six Noongar Seasons have also found their way into my work. These experiences have greatly influenced my use of light and colour.
All subject matters are explored through colour, pattern and texture using acrylics, watercolours and collage in the main on a variety of surfaces including canvas, paper and wood.
